After nearly one year and two months waiting period, I’ve finally got my Australia Permanent Residency from the Australia Government. Lots of my friends who lodged the application on the same day with the same / similar qualification (Master degree + Professional Year Program) are still waiting for their case to be finalized. Why I can get it so “Quick”? To be honest, it was a bit of luck and also a bit of efforts. What I’ve found is ….

1. To get a visa, in this case is the PR (subclass 885), you don’t really need an agent. DIY and do it through the Internet. A lots of people think the application is too complicated and don’t know which part to start from, “lets give it to the agent”. But actually, what I found is: you can get a check list from the IMMI website and what you need to do is prepare all the documents on the list, scan them and then upload it to the IMMI website. That’s all you need to do to apply.

2. To get the visa faster, all you need to do is …. become more pushy to the IMMI. Call them, call them and keep calling them whenever you think you have question about your application. What I had found is: they make notes to all you phone calls. So, just in case they think you are asking the same question too much, what you need to do is make up an better excuse every time you call and try to push them / or ask them what is the process of your application. Sample questions can be something like: “I’ve found that one of the status of my doc is saying ‘Further verification required.’ what dose that mean and what do I need to do?” etc.

3. Check if your career on the demand career list, found a job that can help you to get into any career that on the list. After 1 year relevant working experience, ask your company to get a work experience certificate for you and do the re-skill assessment. That will help to boost your application speed A LOT!!!

4. Once you got the new skill assessment, then what you need to do is submit it and keep tracing the IMMI. If you are on the demand list your case will be handle with higher priority and that would help you to get it quicker. And one more thing, keep tracing tracing and tracing them.

Finally, I got it today!!!! The same day as my chinese b’day. So happy! Check out the following pic for the application status.
